But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will
disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire,
and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.  Since
everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people
ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you
look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day
will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the
elements will melt in the heat.

Satan is real.  He and his power are intended to harm.  But
rather than spending our time worrying about him, let's resist
him when we are tempted and focus on Jesus.  He's the one who
won the big showdown at Calvary, triumphing over Satan.  He
took Satan's greatest tool and disarmed it.  Now we can resist
and Satan will flee.

Heaven is something we see with our heart.  When we are
discouraged, doubtful, and depressed, we need to have the eyes
of our hearts "enlightened."  The dawn needs to rise in our
darkness, and then we will see the dawn of hope and the riches
of our inheritance.  But when things look bad, the only way to
remember these things is to sing them, pray them, and read
God's promises of them.

Testimony

MY TESTIMONY

All my life I’ve never really heard much about God or religion. It just wasn’t something my parents talked much about. It never mattered to me either…until this year. For about three years a friend of mine has been trying to get me to go to her church and get saved. Every single time I would tell her that kind of thing was meant for her, and that’s great, but it just wasn’t for me at all. This year for the first time I truly started listening to what she had to say. God started talking to me and I finally heard him.

Before I got saved I was a really happy, easygoing person for a long time…but things started to change…people started to change. A friend of mine had just died, there were suddenly problems at home, problems with friends and I just felt like I was going crazy. Another friend of mine had gotten into drugs a year back and she had told me, even though she knew I was against it, that if I ever wanted anything it was open to me. So one day I told her I wanted it. When I got home that day it felt like the world was ending and all I wanted was for it to all to go away. I realized that drugs weren’t really what I wanted and I hated the fact that I had even thought of taking them. So I called the only Christian friend I had, the only one who had always been there to talk to me about God and I told her that I wanted God in my life. Ever since then my life has changed, I’ve changed and I realized all of that…was for me. God is for everyone. God has changed my life and I testify that to the world. God is our savor, the Lord almighty. This is my Testimony.

True Stories Of Miracles

 Dated: 1981

Story

My daughter was four years old and her hands were covered by warts.  She attended a daycare nearby.  We lived in a two-bedroom apartment in town, and I worked for a local heating/air conditioning business. I was 31 years old. Today I am 50 years old.

One Sunday morning, I had the channel turned to Oral Roberts.  His son,
Richard was speaking about the time his father prayed with him and he received
a healing from God.  It suddenly occurred to me to use this message to help my
daughter.  I decided to pray to God to heal my daughter's warts.

I talked with my small daughter about what I planned to do:  I told her
she would have to truly believe God would heal her.  I told her I would pray
and hold her hands while I prayed, and that it wouldn't work unless we both
believed in the healing power of God.

I prayed a short prayer asking God to take my daughter's warts off her
hands and said I couldn't afford to take her to the doctor.  The prayer was
very simple and to the point.  I had prayed only a few sentences, then ended
the prayer by thanking God.  I had believed the miracle was going to happen
without any doubt.

For some reason, I completely forgot the prayer incident.  I know now that
God had caused me to forget about it.  Within about five days, I was preparing
to get off work when suddenly a strong thought occurred to me.  My daughter's
hands were healed.  I knew this without a doubt.  I headed excitedly to the
daycare to pick up my daughter.

When I arrived at the daycare, I immediately grabbed my daughter's hands
to look at them.  As I grabbed them up and looked closely at both hands, I
found them to completely clear of any warts.  I was amazed and felt a true
feeling to thanks to God for this miracle.

I have told many people over the years about this miracle.  I don't care
if anyone really believes it, it is only important that I and my daughter know
it happened.  We will always know that a miracle from God was sent our way.  I
want others to know that miracles are real, and more importantly, that miracles
can happen with only a short and simple request through prayer, but that one
must believe without a doubt in God's power to heal.

Little Bit Of History

It is known that St. Patrick was born in Britain to wealthy parents near the end of the fourth century. He is believed to have died on March 17, around 460 A.D. Although his father was a Christian deacon, it has been suggested that he probably took on the role because of tax incentives and there is no evidence that Patrick came from a particularly religious family. At the age of sixteen, Patrick was taken prisoner by a group of Irish raiders who were attacking his family's estate. They transported him to Ireland where he spent six years in captivity. (There is some dispute over where this captivity took place. Although many believe he was taken to live in Mount Slemish in County Antrim, it is more likely that he was held in County Mayo near Killala.) During this time, he worked as a shepherd, outdoors and away from people. Lonely and afraid, he turned to his religion for solace, becoming a devout Christian. (It is also believed that Patrick first began to dream of converting the Irish people to Christianity during his captivity.)

Story Time

amazing but true!

Years ago a hardworking man took his family from New York State to Australia to take advantage of a work opportunity there. Part of this man's family was handsome young son who had aspirations of joining the circus as a trapeze artist or an actor. This young fellow, biding his time until a circus job or even one as a stagehand came along, worked at the local shipyards which bordered on the worst section of town.

Walking home from work one evening this young man was attacked by five thugs who wanted to rob him. Instead of just giving up his money the young fellow resisted. However they bested him easily and proceeded to beat him to a pulp.

They mashed his face with their boots, and kicked and beat his body brutally with clubs, leaving him for dead. When the police happened to find him lying in the road they assumed he was dead and called for the Morgue Wagon.

On the way to the morgue a policeman heard him gasp for air, and they immediately took him to the emergency unit at the hospital. When he was placed on a gurney a nurse remarked to her horror, that this young man no longer had a face. Each eye socket was smashed, his skull, legs, and arms fractured, his nose literally hanging from his face, all is teeth were gone, and his jaw was almost completely torn from his skull.

Although his life was spared he spent over a year in the hospital. When he finally left, his body may have healed, but his face was disgusting to look at. He was no longer the handsome youth that everyone admired. When the young man started to look for work again, he was turned down by everyone just on account of the way he looked. One potential employer suggested to him that he join the freak show at the circus as The Man Who Had No Face..

And he did this for a while. He was still rejected by everyone and no one wanted to be seen in his company. He had thoughts of suicide. This went on for five years.

One day he passed a church and sought some solace there. Entering the church he encountered a priest who had saw him sobbing while kneeling in a pew.

The priest took pity on him and took him to the rectory where they talked at length. The priest was impressed with him to such a degree that he said that he would do everything possible for him that could be done to restore his dignity and life, if the young man would promise to be the best Catholic he could be, and trust in God's mercy to free him from his torturous life. The young man went to Mass and communion every day, and after thanking God for saving his life, asked God to only give him peace of mind and the grace to be the best man he could ever be in His eyes.

The priest, through his personal contacts was able to secure the services of the best plastic surgeon in Australia. They would be no cost to the young man, as the doctor was the priest's best friend. The doctor too was so impressed by the young man, whose outlook now on life, even though he had experienced the worst, was filled with good humor and love.

The surgery was a miraculous success. All the best dental work was also done for him. The young man became everything he promised God he would be.

He was also blessed with a wonderful, beautiful wife, and many children, and success in an industry which would have been the furthest thing from his mind as a career, if not for the goodness of God and the love of the people who cared for him. This he acknowledges publicly.

The young man was and is Mel Gibson.

QUOTE: “Gratitude is riches, complaint is poverty.” (Carole Doré)

Gratitude can be given in many forms,

it may be just a simple kiss and a hug,

it may be a ‘thank-you’ card,

it maybe a generous verbal communication, it maybe a gift.

Whichever and however, it is a powerful event.

Something To Think About

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17, his religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for thousands of years. On St. Patrick's Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink, and feast—on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.

 "ALWAYS THERE"

I woke up one night and heard

Someone talking to me.

So I looked all around

But none did I see

This person called me by my name

When I realized who it was

I hang my head in shame.

Then he said lift up your head and wipe

Away you’re tears.

You may not have seen me

But I’ve been here all these years

Patiently waiting for you

To turn back around,

So I could lift you up

Back on solid ground

I cried out Lord why

Do you still care,

Because you are my son came the

Answer

I will always be there,

I was filled with such happiness

And joy

From that day on I was done being

Satan’s little toy

I will follow my Lord to eternity,

So beside Him in heaven I will be!

 Gratitude

Show gratitude when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Show gratitude for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.

Show gratitude when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference.

"NUGGETS OF GOLD"

1. The most important things in your home are the people.

2. Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.

3. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.

4. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

5. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

6. We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy your precious moments.

7. Nothing is real to you until you experience it, otherwise it's just hearsay.

8. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again.  Just be sure to flush when you are done.

9. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the turtle -- it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.

10. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

Joke

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. the little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. the little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked, " What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him."

Just One More Please?

ne day, Joe, Bob and Dave were hiking in a wilderness area when they came upon a large, raging, violent river. They needed to get to the other side, but had no idea of how to do so.

Joe prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength to cross this river."

Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs, and he was able to swim across the river in about two hours, although he almost drowned a couple of times.

Seeing this, Dave prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools to cross this river."

Poof! God gave him a rowboat and he was able to row across the river in about an hour, after almost capsizing the boat a couple of times.

Bob had seen how this worked out for the other two, so he also prayed to God saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools, and the intelligence, to cross this river."

Poof! God turned him into a woman. She looked at the map, hiked upstream a couple of hundred yards, then walked across the bridge.

Devotional

“Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.”

- Psalm 73:24

The Psalmist felt his need of divine guidance. He had just been discovering the foolishness of his own heart, and lest he should be constantly led astray by it, he resolved that God’s counsel should henceforth guide him. A sense of our own folly is a great step towards being wise, when it leads us to rely on the wisdom of the Lord. The blind man leans on his friend’s arm and reaches home in safety, and so would we give ourselves up implicitly to divine guidance, nothing doubting; assured that though we cannot see, it is always safe to trust the all-seeing God. “Thou shalt,” is a blessed expression of confidence. He was sure that the Lord would not decline the condescending task. There is a word for thee, O believer; rest thou in it. Be assured that thy God will be thy counselor and friend; he shall guide thee; he will direct all thy ways. In his written Word thou hast this assurance in part fulfilled, for holy Scripture is his counsel to thee. Happy are we to have God’s Word always to guide us! What were the mariner without his compass? And what were the Christian without the Bible? This is the unerring chart, the map in which every shoal is described, and all the channels from the quicksand's of destruction to the haven of salvation mapped and marked by one who knows all the way. Blessed be thou, O God, that we may trust thee to guide us now, and guide us even to the end! After this guidance through life, the Psalmist anticipates a divine reception at last-”and afterward receive me to glory.” What a thought for thee, believer! God himself will receive thee to glory-thee! Wandering, erring, straying, yet he will bring thee safe at last to glory! This is thy portion; live on it this day, and if perplexities should surround thee, go in the strength of this text straight to the throne.

Prayer

Loving Shepherd, please bless your church with qualified

Shepherds who love you and passionately care for your sheep and

Please give these faithful leaders a sense of your nearness and

Your pleasure as they faithfully carry out their responsibilities

To you and to your sheep. In the name of Jesus, your Lamb that was

Slain for our sins, I pray. Amen.

“Walk Into Salvation”

If you died today, could you honestly say where you would go?

Please take a moment to stop and think about it…..

Friend listen to me; make no mistake about it…God loves you. He loves you so much

That He paid the plenty of sin for you. He took the blows that you deserve. He was beaten, mocked and hung on a cross for you. That’s love.

Listen to meThat love is reaching out to you right now…It is touching your heart and

It is calling to you…to return to God. It doesn’t matter, what you’ve done or what you’re doing… God loves you. God wants to take away the pain and hurt, and give you a brand

New life. You can have it right now.

How? Simplefollow the way shown in Romans 10:9 says “that if you confess with your

Mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead

You will be saved.

Do you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected by the Father?

Will you confess Him as Lord? That means asking Jesus to become Lord of your life.

How do you do that?

Pray this simple Prayer:

Dear Jesus…I’m a sinner. I need forgiveness. Please Jesus forgive me of all my sins.

I want to start again. Lord come into my heart, and be the Lord of my life. I believe you died on a cross for me, and you rose again on the 3rd say, I accept

You Lord Jesus as Lord and savior of my life. You are the risen Son of God.

My life is yours.

And with a simple prayer of faith…. like that…God comes in and cleanses you of all sin..

Now go and call someone. Tell them what you have done. E-mail us and let us celebrate with you.
