The Flower Bed

So often I had looked upon these flowers
And adored their beauty deep
To feel softness in my heart
As if in a peaceful sleep.

But it was upon this certain day
I saw in a different light
The flowers in the flower bed
I beheld as in God's sight.

The color of each was so different
And their leaves of a varied splendor
Each one different from another
Yet each a plant so tender.

I saw that the care of God
To one was as the other
According to what was the need
He nursed as  would a mother.

And though their colors were not alike
All seemed in harmony
For together they made this flower bed
The great beauty that I could see.

With this thought upon my mind
I knew that this was true of man
When colors choose to be together
It is in God's Love we stand.

How lovely that I find today
When all we speak is said
'Tis true when colors come together
It make's a beautiful flower bed.
