a maximum of 100.
Warp Cauldron Locations:
The warp cauldrons transport Banjo-Kazooie to other locations in Gruntilda's Lair. The
time it takes to get to certain levels can be noticeably reduced.
There are three sets of cauldrons.
PURPLE: The first purple cauldron can be found through a passageway in the area where the
Treasure Trove Cove jigsaw puzzle is located. The second cauldron is located in the area
prior to Freezeezy Peak, where there is a large witch's head. It can be found tucked in a
cave that is hidden behind a spiderweb. Use eggs to destroy the web.
BLUE: The first blue cauldron can be found near the second purple cauldron is located. Go
to the top of the spiral walkway, where there is another spiderweb on the ground. Shoot
eggs out your rear to destroy the web. The second blue cauldron is located in the area
with the entrance to Rusty Bucket Bay. It is near the top of a bunch of stacked boxes.
RED: The first red cauldron is located inside the pipe below the passageway heading to
Clanker's Cavern (also the same area where there is a passage to Treasure Trove Cove). The
second red cauldron is tucked away in a passage at the bottom of the hill before Click
Clock Wood. There are two entryways and they are just barely visible above the grass.
White Spell Book:
The white spell book can be found behind the entrance to Bubblegloop Swamp, where the
jigsaw puzzle for Freezeezy Peak is located. To get to it, you must have Mumbo Jumbo
transform you into the alligator in Bubblegloop Swamp. Leave the level, go into the wooden
pipe, up the hill, and into the next (snow-covered) wooden pipe.
CHEAT Codes:
If you pound in CHEAT on the sandcastle floor, each letter sounds like a cow mooing. Once
you do that, several hidden codes can be entered. Once you type them in correctly, the cow
will moo again to tell you that you did it right. These codes last only until you turn off
the system, so you have to re-enter them each time you start up the game.
To deform Mario's face at the Title Screen, hold A and move the Analog
Stick around.
FIND YOSHI:
Collect all 120 Stars and proceed to the Castle Gardens. The grid near
the Fish Pond will open, revealing a cannon. Shoot yourself onto the roof
of the castle and Yoshi will be there. Yoshi will give you 100 lives and
then leave.
SLIDING SHORTCUT:
Enter the Red Sliding level and jump to the left as soon as you exit the tunnel.
With a little practice you can land on the later part of the course saving you
valuable time.
When you are in the snow level racing the Pinguien, about 1/4 of the way
down there will be a line of coins going tawards a curved wall. Go into
the wall were the coins are pointing and you will be in a tunnel with a lot of
extra lives and coins. Then proceed down in the tunnle to get to the end as
fast as you can. You beat the penguin but he then says you are nice but that
you were cheating. The game will then let you leave the house and will give
you a star. To get another star, Go into the snow level again and race the
pinguien. Right after the first curve jump off of the path. You should
land right at the end of the race therfore beating the pinguien.
<P>
When you get 7 stars, go into the door with a star on it. When you go in,
you will see a picture of Princess ToadStool/Bowser. Run to it and you will
fall down a trap door. Beat that level going slow. When you beat it you will
have to fight bowser, Follow directions stated in game. When you beat him
he will give you a key. go down into the basement and open the locked door
down there. When you see the picture of fire go to your left down a short
passageway. When you get to the end goto your left again and you will see
a wall. Jump into the wall and get to a secret level. Also in the bastment
when you see two pillars sticking kinda out of the water do a butt-buster
on both of them. The water in the moat surronding the castle will be drained.
Go into the hole in the ground and you can beat the blue invisable swich boxes.
When you are in the back courtyard and there are ghosts there, wait
until they turn and look like coins and look at each one of them. When you
see one that looks like a carasoll, hit him from behind and you will be in the
secret ghost level.
In every course , if you get 100 yellow stars , you get a star.
When you beat Koupa and go down to the basement, go by the fire level
entrance and you might see a gold rabbit, chase him and he will stop at a
wall, jump into the wall and discover a secret level.
To get the wing cap you have to have 10 stars, then look up into the origin
of the sun coming down into the main lobby of the castle.
To find the red switch and get a star go into the main room of the castle.
After you have one star go to the symbol in the middle of the floor stand
and in the middle of the stand look up.
If you go to the third tree on the left of the castle there is an extra life.
After you get it then enter the castle. Then exit the castle and the extra
life will return!
If you beat Bowser the 2nd, go to the 1st floor. Next, go through the door that
needs the 2nd key from Bowser the 2nd. Go up the stairs. Once you reach
the top, run around. Soon, you will see a door with a picture of a star on it. Go
through the door and go left. Go through the wall on the left and you
will find yourself in stage 15 Snowman's Land.
When you find the pipe leading to the final Bowser, there is an extra life
behind the left pillar closest to the pipe. So if you die you can keep getting
it as many times as you like!
Secret Areas:
The Princess's Secret Slide-
Requires at least 1 Star to enter.
From the entrance of the Castle, climb up the stairs in the center of the
room, then go to the right and enter the door that has picture of a star with
the number one on it. You'll appear in a small room with stained-glass
windows that have pictures of the Princess on them. Jump into the far
right window to enter the course.
You can earn two Stars in this course. If you make it to the bottom of the
slide, you will automatically earn one Star. If you make it to the bottom of the
slide in 20.9 seconds or less, you'll receive a second Star. In order to
achieve a faster time, you will need to jump head first onto the slide, then hold
forward on the Control Stick the whole way down. Also, try not to bump into
any of the walls, because they can slow you down.
The Secret Aquarium-
Requires at least 3 Stars to locate.
Jump into the black opening that is to the right of the Course 3 entrance
(the picture of the sunken ship). Swim around the room and collect all eight
Red Coins. There are four Red Coins on the floor of the aquarium and four
Red Coins floating near the top of the aquarium. After you collect all eight Red
Coins, the Star will appear at the bottom center of the room.
Wing Mario over the Rainbow-
Requires at least 50 Stars to locate.
On the far-left side of the Castle's third floor. Go to the left of the giant
clock and enter the large square opening in the wall, then drop down into
the hole. There are eight Red Coins scattered throughout the course. Seven of
the Red Coins can be obtained by flying from cloud to cloud. One Red Coin can
be obtained by shooting yourself out of a Cannon, then dropping down onto
it. After obtaining all eight Red Coins, the Star will appear on the cloud where
you began the course. Because it's nearly impossible to give directions
through this course, you'll have to explore on your own. The key to success
is skilled flying techniques and a lot of practice. If you fall out of this course, you
will not lose a life, but you will end up outside in front of the Castle.
Secret Room-
After attaining all 120 stars, here's a cool glitchy thing to do just for kicks.
Drop into the cannon and blast onto the roof where Yoshi is. Grab the winged
hat (from the red switch box) and rush back into the cannon on the
ground. Aim toward the middle tower and then aim the cannon really high at
the top of the cloud above it, and blast toward it. Land on it and walk around
to the left side, and Mario should fall through the wall behind the
front door. Except for one thing, it's black and weird, and it seems he can't
get out. Go through the door first. He will then appear as if he's in the front
lobby. Now, if Mario is facing the door, scoot him over to his right, and
he should be able to walk right through the wall beside the door.
To get ulimited lives in Mario, go to the first Bowser. Don't pick him up but wait
till he blows out fire. After the fire has gone collect the coins. If you collect a
100 coins a "M" will appear next to you lives. You will now have unlimited
lives.
To stop the time in Tick Tock Clock, you must get in front of the clock. Wait
until the big hand is on or very close to the twelve. Then, jump in. If you did it
right, everything will stop. Then the stars will be easier to get except
Jumping On The Big Whomp.
To get an easy two stars catch the rabbit in the basement two times.
In Bob-omb land in the turtle race,go to the hay on the 1ST bridge, you'll teleport
near the mountain. Go inside the 1ST hole and you'll teleport to the top of the
mountain.
Wanna See Yoshi WITHOUT 120 stars? You won't be UP CLOSE to him,
but you can take a little peek at him! Go out by the grated Cannon, and look up.
It takes a while to get the perfect angle, but Yoshi's there, hopping.
Go into the second snow level and go up to where the giant snowman is. Let
him blow you off of the bridge and let your hat blow off as well. DON'T GET
YOUR HAT! Find the tree that will warp you to another part of the level if you
walk slowly by it (it's in one of the far corners of the level). Warp with this tree
9 times. After you've warped 9 times, go and pick up your hat and watch
what happens!
To let the water out of the moat and find the green switch enter the basement
and find a water section with two tower platforms above the water, butt
bounce on both platforms twice. The water will drain and when you go out to
the moat and there will be a hole. Enter the hole and find the switch for the
ghost hat.
In the tower, there should be a course call Wet-Dry World. The higher you
jump into the picture, the higher the water will start out as.
If you are having trouble beating Koopa the Quick, first hit the red cap switch,
then get the flying cap when Koopa the Quick is waiting for you. From the
cannon hole on the stone platform, do a triple jump to launch Mario
in the air. Launch into the air a little before Koopa, but not enough to talk to
him. Fly for a short distance, then land. When you land, you should see the
normal message from Koopa the Quick, but when you accept, you will hear the
race music, but Koopa the Quick will never show up!
If you would like to see some happy fish, go to Jolly Roger Bay and walk into
the water, but make sure you are still standing. Jump up and down in the
water and you might inspire some local fish to leap out of the water as
well! This trick takes a long time, so you can jump for a long time and get no results.
To get the green power switch you have to go in to course 6 and hitch a ride
on Nessie if you want to reach the door to the Switch Palace! Once inside, hop
into the liquid metal pool! Skip the Red Coins, and head straight for the Power
switch! After that's been done (and saved!) head for Red Coins to earn a bonus
Power Star! The first four Red Coins should be no problem, but the remaning
four are underwater, so grab a metal cap before you jump in, or the current
will carry you out. This Power Star is under water, behind the switch. Grab
it and your off.
VANISH CAP COURSE
Mario must first lower the moat outside the castle to enter the Blue Switch Palace.
To do this, you must have the key to the basement, and find the room with
the room with the room with two odd looking blocks partially submerged in
water. Butt-Stomp both of them to, suprise, lower the moat! now head into
the palace. Like usual, head for the P-Switch first, then follow it up by grabbin'
all the red coins for the Bouns Power Star! It's-a me! Pixel Mario! The first four
Red Coins are along the plank sequence near the switch. Grab the
pixel cap and run through the fence for the star.
ON the bottom floor in the circle press c up then look for the painted
clouds then you go to the secret level.
In the sea level on the right side of the lobby when you go in look up and left
there should be a hole in the wall when you back flip into it a 1 up should appear.
You can do this every time you enter then exit a level.
If you want some extra lives listen to this when you enter the third stage
door which is the one with the ship on the picture. Once you are in the
door look up and to the laft you should see a black square go underneith it
and do a back flip into it and you should get a one up each time you do it. But
between each 1up you have to go into a level and then come out again.
When in snowmans land the secret course in the mirror room that you can get
to after beating bowser#2 get your hat blown of by the big snow man then with
out retriving your hat go to the first warp tree. Warp then warp again for each
time you do this another hat will appear. Go back to were your hat was
and pick it up then pick up anouther hat next to it and mario will hold his hat.
Go to the second Snow Course, climb up the ice bridge, get your hat blown
off but Don't pick it up! Find one of the two warp trees and stand in its shadow.
Warp back and forth a few times. Go back to the hat. It's a STACK
of hats!! Go up to it twice and Mario will take his hat, put it on his head and
take it off!!! Now, by hitting B, you can slap enemies with your hat!!
In the 1st water level on the left side double jump in the black square
to get an extra life!
There are two extra lives outside the castle one is on the left hand side on the
top of the 3rd tree near the side of the castle and the second one is under
the bridge that crosses the moat you have to get the two coins for
the life to appear. You can get the wings outside the castle but you have
to clock the game first, after you clock the game shoot yourself on top
of the castle and the wings and yoshi will be there, talk to yoshi and he will give
you one hundred lives.
Didja know it's possible to climb to the very top of the castle? Yeah. Get the
Wing Cap on top of the castle, then head back to the cannon. Line up with the
tallest tower of the castle, and aim the cannon up as far as it will go. Fire and
hold the Control Stick down. The instant you collide with the tower, jump, or
you will slide off like a ravioli square on a greased pan. Now, run around
to the left side of the tower, and from there you can just jaunt right up the wall!
Locations of castles secret stars:
3 from toad at various floors
3 from red coins on each cap stage (wing, metal etc.)
2 from the stupid bunny (appears again later)
2 from princess secret slide (another for completing qucikly
1 from aquarium
1 from wing mario over the rainbow
3 from red coins on each bowser stage
This is for the people who want some extra lives but don't want to fool around
with Bowser. In the fire level I think it is level 8 go to star 5 or 6. When you enter
the level go directly ahead and find a box containing a shell. You can surf around
and get up to six lives.
First stage save Falco and go under all the arches in the water and you will fight a different boss.
Corneria
Easy Route-Meteo
Advanced Route-Sector Y
Medal Requirement-150 kills Note:All wingmen must be alive at each mission in order to get a medal.
To take the advanced route to Sector Y, save Falco just after the check point. Then fly throught all the archs in the water. You may want to brake to go through the last arch to avoid colliding with it. To reach the medal requirement you may have to break continuesly and shoot everything you see. If you don't reach the medal
requirement, chances are you made at least 100 kills. When you reach the map screen press start and the Retry Mission, you'll lose one Arwing, but as long you keep getting at least 100 kills, it'll be like you just started the game. This way you can try to get the medal again. Do this for all other missions too. Note:Sometimes you'll get more than one life from a mission.
Meteo
Easy route-Fortuna
Secret Route-Katina
Medal Requirments-200 kills
There are three meteor rings at the beginning of this mission, fly through all three and a laser power up will appear. After the first tunnel there will be fore meteors clumped together, fly through them to make a Laser Power up or a wing repair appear under a meteor. To kill the boss shoot the triangles that are not hidden by the sheild which asorbs lasers. When the triangles are gones, avoid getting hit by the sheild then shoot the glowing spot in the center. Avoid the electric blasts the boss shoots at you. Just stay away from the center of the screen and you won't get hit by the electricity. After you destroy the center the boss will turn around and shoot ring lasers at you. To avoid them turbo forward. Shoot the two glowing spots and he's done for. To reach the secret area go through the 5 blue ring after the checkpoint, you'll start to spin, and the faster you go, the harder it is to go through the rings, just start turning for the next ring as soon as you enter a ring. If you get them all, you'll warp to a secret level. To get a medal, shoot all the enemies you can before taking the warps (you may want to shoot bombs into areas with a high concentration of enemies). After you take the warp, there are plenty more enemies. Shoot a bomb in to the center of the striped astroids to get most of them. When you see a whole bunch of power up clustered together, try to get the bombs using a loop. Shoot bombs into areas with a lot of enemies too. The warp will take you to Katina.
Fortuna
Easy Route-Sector X
Intermediate Route-Solar
Medal Requirements:50 kills
To get a medal here, you'll have to shoot as many of the enemies coming out of the base you can. Try to lock on them by charging your lasers. Then when Wolf Squadron arrives, take all of them down too, don't let any of your team mates do it. Keep shooting enemies and you'll get a medal. To take out Wolf Squadron, wait until one of them are behind you, then do a loop, they'll be put in front of you, then shoot them with rapid-fire lasers. If you become real good in this game, you'll won't have to wait for them to hunt you down, you can go hunt them! :-) Charging your lasers and locking lasers don't do much damage, but is good for getting them off one of your wing men backs. Be sure to answer their calls for help. Defeat Wolf Squadron in the set amount of time, and you'll go two Solar, if not, you'll go to Sector X, and whatever is left of them will return for a rematch.
Sector X
Easy Route-Macbeth
Secret Route-Sector Z
Medal Requirement-200 kills
If you come here from Katina, Bill will come to help you out. To avoid the bombs stay to one of the far sides of the screen. Right after the bombs, shoot all three mines right next to each other to get a laser power up. Trying locking on with lasers. Soon, directly when the second arm to the boss flys past (it looks just like the first one the punches open a wall right after the check point). If you go to the left, you'll fly past four grey gates. Shoot open these gates and fly through them to take a warp to a secret area. When you shoot open the gates, Bill will help you open them. But don't rely on them to much. Keep the brake button pressed and turbo fire the doors open, they turn from grey to red (hope you have at least twin lasers, and you might want to use a bomb if you get too close to them). If you make the warp, you'll go to a harder secret area. Ignore the baddies and just shoot the ones who get in your way. Avoid the beams by turning with them and flying close to the center of them. When you reach the second spiral, right after the first, you might want to do a Barrel Roll to turn faster near the end of it and turbo. Stick to the center of the the rest of the beams. When you reach the squares, shoot the enemies in your way and fly through them and hope you made good timing. You may be able to turbo or break to avoid getting hit, but don't count on it to much. If you take the path to the right, or, you don't take the warp after taking the left path, you'll face the boss. Shoot the bosses eyes, after a while, you 'll destroy the big head and then have to shoot the little eye. Destroy him fast, other wise Slippy will try to take him and end up getting knocked into titania, where you will have to save him. If you destroy the boss in time, your off to Solar. To get a medal, you don't need to take the warp, (you don't need to in Meteo either, it's just easier taking the warp). Just destroy everything you see and use bombs in high concentrations (like right at the beginning of the mission). Take the the right path where it splits. They're are loads of enemies and guns to destroy, use the breaks to take out them all.
Bolse
Easy Route-Easy Venom
Medal requirement-150 kills
At this level, the base is spining or something, and it's easyier to shoot the poles and things by going right. This way, the target (not the baddies) is always in front of you, and you'll have to turbo to the other targets. At each pole, destroy the to guns and the bottom to get power ups. Then destroy the the top of the poles. After this, more baddies will appear, and you'll have to take them out. Try locking on. After a while, Wolf will appear (or whatever is left of it). Take them out the same way as Fortuna. Then take out the core by shooting the glowing squares. To get a medal, you'll have to shoot as many enemies you can. Then take out wolf squadron, it's better you avoid going to Fortuna so you can take them all on here, so you can get the most points out of them. When you're done with Star Wolf, take out all the baddies until no more enter the fight. Then take out the core. You should then get a medal if your wingmen are alive.
Easy Venom.
Medal Requirement 200 kills.
Note:This only applies if you arrive via easy route.
Don't worry about getting a medal here, it's to hard. It's easier to get one on Advanced Venom. Just shoot so you won't get shot. The Boss is a stone runner. Don't shoot the head and shoot everything else. He'll make poles come out of the floors and walls and make beams fall. Avoid them. When you take out his armor, his head will turn red, then shoot his head. During this time he'll make a whole lot of beams come out of the wall. You better break! It's very hard to avoid them! When you get read of the head armor, shoot the center of his back. Then you got him.
Final Boss-Easy Andross
There are to ways to take Easy Andross out. But this way doesn't take up less time. Shoot
Androsses eyes. They'll flash red. After a short while, Andross well grimace and hold up a
hand. Shoot the hand. If you don't destroy the hand, he'll shoot electricity at you. To
avoid it, go to the opposite upper corner of the screen. Repeat this procedure until both
hands are destroyed. Then shoot his eyes. When Andross tries to suck you in, either brake
or go the lower right corner of the screen, or do both. You won't get sucked in. Then
shoot the rocks he spits at you. So you will destroy androsses face, and you discover he's
a droid, or you would if I didn't tell you. Shoot his eyes. The barrel roll out of the way
and stay out of the way when he tries to chomp you. Repeat the procedure, eventually, you
