OUR ONLY HOPE IS JESUS
| some
years ago, God said something to me that will impact my ministry forever.
It was this: The only hope that anyone has-anywhere in the world-is
faith in Jesus Christ.
In light of what's happening around us today, the truth of that statement is easier to see than ever before. There are diseases no person can heal and problems no person can solve. Even the brief successes people have are quickly overtaken by new and greater crises. |
"Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay." Acts 2:26-27
|
All too often, that's as true
for Christians as it is for non-Christians. It shouldn't be, but it is.
Christians are being killed by the same diseases that are devastating the rest
of the world.
They're being troubled by the same problems. And what's really
said is that many are walking
around without hope-just like the rest of the
world.
Why? Because the only
hope that anyone has is faith in Jesus Christ. And many Christians
don't
know how to live by faith.
Instead of being filled with
faith and knowing God's Word, they've been stuffed full of
passed-down beliefs
and superstitions. And they've suffering. When Satan hits them with
sickness,
disease, poverty, depression or pain, they often stand by helplessly as it
destroys
them. They simply don't know what else to do.
