JUST DO IT
"Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler
said to the people, 'There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those
days, not on the Sabbath."
{Luke 13:14}
Religion-trying to follow God without having a relationship with Him-is dangerous. Many of the young men and women you know may be turned off to Christianity because that's what they think it is. But the difference is that religion would rather debate about healing than see someone healed. Religion would rather argue about God's power to set people free than actually see someone set free.
There's an example of that in Luke 13. Jesus healed a women who had been crippled for 18 years. Think of it-a women set free after being caught in Satan's grasp for nearly two decades. You'd think the temple rulers would have been thrilled at what Jesus had done. But, no! They were angry because He'd done it on the wrong day (the Sabbath).
Do you know what's worse? Those very same religious leaders who criticized Jesus for healing on the Sabbath could have prayed for healing for that woman themselves on any of the other six days of the week, if they'd cared enough to do it.
That's why Jesus was so aggravated with them. They had the covenant of Abraham that Jesus was ministering on. But their religion had kept that woman crippled instead of setting her free. It always does.
Remember that next time someone tries to sidetrack you into a debate about healing or God's power. If someone needs God's power to rescue them, just stop what you're doing and pray right there...don't debate about it!
That's the difference between religion and God's love. Religion argues. Love acts. Choose love today.
