GROW UP!
"Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow
up in your salvation"
{1 Peter 2:2}
Have you ever been in a room full of babies, or baby-sat
several infants at once? Well, you can get your hands full
really fast. Some babies will start crying and screaming for no
reason whatsoever. And toddlers will push and whine to get
their way...The sad thing is that when a bunch of "spiritual babies" get
together, it's just about the same way! Of course, there's nothing
wrong with being a spiritual baby. All of us start out that
way. When we first make Jesus the Lord of our life, we're much
like newborn babies. We're not very strong or well-developed.
We curiously try to learn how to operate in our new life. That's
how we all have to begin. But God never meant for us to stay
that way.That's why in 1 Peter 2:2 He says we should "crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up.." He expects us to grow up! He intends for us to feed on His Word, eventually
developing teeth so we can eat solid food instead of simple milk. He wants us to become
mature sons and daughters.Start finding the nutrition in His Word and enjoy the reward of growing up in Him today!
