LIVE LIKE
JESUS
"But [Jesus] made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being
made in human likeness."
{Philippians 2:7}

Many people mistakenly think that Jesus was able to perform
miracles and live without sin because He had divine powers
that we don't have. Because of that, they never really tried to
live like He lived. What they don't realize is that when Jesus came to earth, He
chose to give up that advantage. He lived on earth not as God,
but as a man. He had no ability to perform miracles until after the
Holy Spirit came upon Him (Luke 3:22). When He worked won-
ders, it was by God's power-not His own (John 14:10).When He prayed, He didn't pray like He was as powerful as God,
but He prayed as a man who obeyed and walked with God. And,
as Hebrews 5:7 says, His prayers were heard not because of His
deity, but "because of His reverence toward God" (AMP).Jesus, God's Son, put aside His privileges and powers while He lived as a an on earth.
Once you grasp that, you can't help but get excited! Why? Because it means that you, as a
Christian, filled with the same Holy Spirit as Jesus, have the same opportunity to live as He
lived on earth. In fact, that's exactly what He wants. In John 17:18 He said to the Father, "As
you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world."Jesus has sent you into the world to live as He lived. He's given you the ability (and the
command) to live above sin, to live in close friendship with the Father, to preach God's
Word, to heal the sick, to drive out evil spirits and to train others to spread His Word.Once you realize that, you'll get rid of any doubting thoughts and insecure feelings that
have held you back. You'll begin to live as Jesus meant for you to live-not as a sin-filled
person, but as a sinless child of God. Then those around you will actually begin to see
Jesus in you.
Talk the Truth "I live the same way Jesus lived in the world
sinless, in close friendship with God, following
His commands."
