NO TIME FOR CLAY POTS
Are you destined for greatness? Some Christians will humbly assure you they're not. "We can't all be golden vessels," they'll say. "The Bible doesn't say that!

Certainly some people will be "golden vessels" and some will be "clay pots," but we are the ones-not God-who determine which kind we will be. Second Timothy 2:21-the verse following the one quoted above-says, "if anyone makes him clean from evil things, he will be used for special purposes. He will be made holy, and the Master can use him. He will be ready to do any good work" (ICB)

"In a large house there are things [vessels] made of gold and silver.  But also there are things [pots] made of wood and clay. Some things are used for special purposes, and others are made for ordinary jobs."

2 Timothy 2:20 ICB

Golden vessel or clay pot-destined for greatness or not-the choice is up to you!

Why then are so many Christians content to remain clay pots?

Because they lack one thing every golden vessel must have: commitment. They haven't made a lasting decision to separate themselves from worldly influences. They haven't been willing to follow the dreams God has for their lives.

But you don't have to be a clay pot! If you haven't yet made a commitment that will turn you into a golden vessel, admit it. Then take the time to get before God and study His Word-get your desires in line with His desires. Let the Holy Spirit deal with you until you're willing to leave the way of the world behind and walk in a better, higher way-God's way.

Talk the Truth "I commit to be a vessel of gold, ready to do any good work. God uses me for special purposes!"  (2 Timothy 2:20)
